Isn't it great when an idea; fabrics and free time collude together? When the design in your head easily happens without the drama of un-picking or re-doing? When members of your family 'approve' your latest creation?
Cut and chain piece the folded wide ends of 16 Dresden plate pieces
Iron
Stitch the 16 pieces together
Iron seams open and cover the unsightly centre with a neat circle of fabric
Place Dresden plate onto batting and mark each if the 16 inner joins
Cut circular piece of batting between each marked point and place behind Dresden plate
Unpick part of two opposing seams and cut batting to enable cover to fit around handles of basket
Quilt batting in place along all seam lines
Stitch doily into centre of Dresden plate
Stitch two pieces of wide bias binding along the outer circle of the wrong side of your Dresden plate project
Thread two ties through the casing
Put cover onto basket and gently gather edges by pulling and securing ties
Fill with goodies and enjoy!

Dresden plates are my favourite block, so what a treat to find this wee tutorial! Now I need a basket!
See now, that is why the cat was there, wasn't it? You filled the basket with irresistable goodies and it was just too much temptation for the poor mog! :) Never mind, Miaow looks very sweet curled up there.
