Scrappy Red and Yellow Squares

One pile of red and purple toned 3 inch squares

A selection of yellow and cream patterned 3 inch squares

The odd pink, mauve and green patterned fabric to add zing  .........

..... a fun quilt that holds lots of memories for me

I used this fabric with a large bird design - one of my very first purchases from a local quilt store Stitch.  The wonky border was placed on top of the quilt top center, batting and backing and top-stitched through all layers

This is a 'cheat' way of adding a curvy border without the tedious clipping of curves that would be necessary if stitched on using conventional methods.

I'm off to do some more quilting.  I hope you feel encouraged to try a wavy border some time (and to play with fabrics that have large prints).
Happy scrapping.
I have a tutorial on curved strips - the method for this border is essentially the same.
